Toy Story 5 Teaser Sets Woody and Buzz Against a Tablet Computer
It has been 30 years after the original Toy Story film debuted, establishing Pixar as a leading film company and introducing audiences to beloved figures like the cowboy doll (Tom Hanks) and Buzz Lightyear (the voice talent), who are now household names.
Coming in 2026, the fifth installment is scheduled for release. The first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 appeared this week, providing a brief look into the plot but keeping viewers wondering how it will resolve the ending of Toy Story 4.
The Latest Addition: A Digital Device Frightens the Toys
The preview reveals the young girl — who received the toy collection when he grew up — getting a brand new plaything, one that terrifies the familiar toy group. Bonnie gets her first tablet computer, and she is excited about it.
Theoretically, the amphibian-inspired device will animate just like Bonnie's other toys. Still, the toys seem to view it as a danger intending to supplant them, which it probably is.
Woody's Return: Unanswered Questions from Toy Story 4
One thing the teaser avoids is what Woody is back with his friends in Bonnie's room. The finale of Toy Story 4 saw him set off on a new adventure with Bo Peep (the actress), traveling with a fair and assisting giveaway items locate loving owners.
Certainly, Pixar will address the aftermath of Toy Story 4 in the film. Seeing him appear in Bonnie's room unexpectedly is somewhat puzzling, however. It also makes us wonder whether Bo Peep will have returned with Woody. And what about the stuntman toy (the star)?
Connections from the Last Installment
Fortunately, some aspects are continuing from the earlier movie. The last thing the cowboy did before departing for his new life was pass his symbol of authority to the cowgirl (the voice actor), leaving her in charge of Bonnie's bedroom. In the teaser displays the badge attached to her shirt.
Hopefully she is remains the key figure among the group.
